Here is a Véronique Perrin from Fashion Royalty. As reference, the edition is Traveller by Nature. She doesn’t wear her original outfit, nor than she wears her original makeup. Her face was repainted by my friend Mimi. She looks a lot better than her factory version to my point of view and from people around looking at her. You will see  below, the pictures of what she looked like when I got her. Mimi has crafted all the new outfit and also a handbag that I find a pure little piece of artcraft for this new baby. At first she  had done another oufit for her. It was very nice. Then she changed her mind and looked for other styles of fabrics in our stuff and chose the material that became the outfit that Véro is wearing above. You will see the other outfit also a bit further, but first, have a look at the pictures when I got her from the mail. If I’d start by these pictures, you would leave this page or this website without seeing the best ones. So the first picture gives you an idea of the final result before seeing the ugliest photos of what she looked like at the biggining. The last pictures are the most amazing ones.  I kept the cherry on the sundae for the end of this page.

This is exactly what she was when I received her. The outfit was not the original one from Integrity Toys. The red top was of a spanish design, coming from some other Fashion Royalty doll. I have seen it somewhere on the net. The skirt seems to have been crafted by some unknown fellow.

I got her for a very cheap price, since her legs, her body and her neck was all yellowished and brownished at the same time because of long exposure to the ligtht, perhaps the sun light or maybe the neons light. I you leave these dolls in their boxes at the dark they are not supposed to change color. It is also because the heads and bodies are not made of the exact mixture of diffenent kinds of plastics. We had a few choices to solve the problem. One solution was to repaint the whole body. We would had to make some trials to find a mix of colors that would suit the skin color of the head. I would have to start by sanding the whole body, then applying a coat of automotive primer in spray can to make the new paint really stick properly on this kind of plastic, then, having tested and chosen the right color of paint, we would had to use and airbrush to paint the whole thing.

The second solution was to build a kind of outfit that would cover the whole body and even the neck of the figurine. Mimi didn’t have a can of automotive primer at the hand and when I passed by I forgot to bring one from my little shop for her. So she decided to strip the doll from the new outfit that she had crafted and simply restyle something else. The nice dress that she made at first was going to be installed on another figurine project. It wouldn’t be lost, or it could be installed on a diorama in a cabinet of outfits on hangers, or on a dressmaking 1/6th scale mannequin. Mimi didn’t change the hairstyle but she decided to had a piece of fabric in the hair of the doll. It looked very nice.

This is the first dress that Mimi made for this new girl. It had arm warmers, a dress jewelry, a black net on top of the body and a colar made of a piece of fabric with necklace, huge circular earrings.

She was wearing also a wide black facric belt at her waist and a piece of mini skirt made of black lace and a pair of black nylons and a bracelet at the left wrist.

Above picture was the last one of Véro’s original makeup. Mimi decided to change it for something that we liked a lot better. See the other pictures below with her repainted face.

Finally, I wasn’t too warm about the brownished body still a bit visible trough the black nylon net. Not to mention the awful joints of the shoulders, elbows and knees that we could see. So the kind Mimi decided to fabricate a new outfit for the babe.

To add more beautiful details to the dool, this amazing Mimi decided to try to fabricate  some long fingernails for the beautiful girl. I think that we had taken some pictures but can’t find them, so we will have to take some new ones and post them on this page.  They came out really nice.

Wow! This incredible Mimi is surprising me all the time. She varnished them with real metallic red nail polish.

Do not get mixed up by the way that the hands look bigger. This is done by the lens of the camera. These are the 2 original hands of the figurine.

The 2 pictures below are taken from an other angle and from a little more far away. The figurine still has her long fingernails but they don’t look really long from this distance. We see that the hands are a normal size for the doll.
