This is how it looks now, but look further at the beginning of the project what the head looked like and read the story.

It was an empty head, built of 2 halves. It was made of polyethylene or nylon with plenty of imperfections. Even the 2 halves. The front part and the back part. They were not perfectly aligned together and had been welded or glued together. I applied super glue along the seam, all around the head to reinforce it.  This plastic was half soft and thin enough and it was sad because this head had a really acceptable face. The nose, the lips, the eye sockets, eye brows, chin, cheeks, and ears had pleasant shapes, so I thought that we could make something nice with it. Once I had made my coats of glazing, I handed the head to the stunning Mimi. She’s the master who is always performing works of art  on figurines and mannequins. I knew that she could do something very decent with this head. So there she started with a mixt of paints to produce a skin tone.

So, here’s an idea of what the doll should look like, depending on the clothes that we want to try on it. The problem is that I found a complete woman mannequin except the fact that it had no head. This is exactly what we needed. We thaught that it would have been a perfect fit with this head… but unfortunately not. The head was too small for the body of this tall and wide 6 feet high lady. This head is smaller and needs a smaller body. Smaller means shorter and narrower. It seems to be rare or almost inexistant on the market. They seem to produce only 6 footer girlies. Tall women.

Mimi had to modify the picture with her PhotoFiltre Plus which is a competitor of PhotoShop, and adjust the dimention of the body to the head. Finally, she had to cut the head from the mannequin and install another one that she had on it. This second head was bigger so it suited the body perfectly. So this beautiful head that she callled Lili-Rose is still awaiting for a new body. I think that I will have to customize a special one for this head. I just bought another head. This one, very solid, of good quality and beautiful. It seems that this one too is bit small. These are the kind of heads that they are used for selling hats, jewelleries or wigs. Many times they are a bit smaller than the ones on complete mannequins. It seems that the standard is 6 feet high for the full size mannequins with heads. I will fix something for these heads. I like to build figurines and it is as much fun to build mannequins too. I’s another amazing hobby.
